Natural themed table setting

Hello friends.. sharing with you today a informal table decor for two dinner evenings we had with our friends. The decor is simple Indian style with natural theme...very homely and at ease..

The cotton table runner is from FabIndia with block printed design of paisleys. I like the white, earthen brown and dull red combination. It gives a simple yet elegant look to the table.. 

The centerpiece is of sea shells from Langkawi island, Malaysia. My sister gave me this wood and rattan platter when I visited  her in USA.I have always filled my  bags to the extent of explosion when I visit USA:) 

My mother send me these banana leaf table mats...They look good for informal simple  style table decor..The cloth coasters are cotton block printed with natural dyes..

The air freshener is an expensive one from Ashleigh-Burwood,UK. I mentioned expensive because it is the most useless and overly priced air freshener I have ever bought..Unless I put my nose next to the bottle I can smell absolutely nothing..

These pictures are from the first evening I just realized that I forgot to take pictures of the second evening..I had placed starter plates and another set of bowls and soup spoons.

Nursery wall art

I have almost finally done decorating my baby's room ( for now).. The last thing to be done took lot of time.. which is putting up the frames. I am drawing and painting so many nursery art that it is getting difficult as to which ones to put up in his room..My baby loves to look and talk to the paintings..So the frames are put up on the wall next to his crib. I will be showcasing his nursery soon but for this post I am sharing exclusively the nursery art..

My Baby's room is nature themed.. So no doubt the nursery art is something related..

Mommy and baby owls.. These are transformer owls..I just love their name and style.. So cute and what kid does not like transformers and owls..

Yellow King Bird .. The inspiration behind this one came from a yellow bird who came to our apartment every now and then when my baby was a newborn in Singapore.. One day the bird made a little nest on a house plant in my balcony.. I didn't have the heart to remove his little nest so when I left Singapore I told the new tenant to take care of the nest and she obliged:) My baby loved to watch the little bird..

Swiss cows.. I love the Swiss cows.. It was always a delight to watch the cows when we lived in Switzerland.. These milk cows were so cute, happy and adorable.. I just loved how they wandered on their own grazing on the never ending green pastures in the mountains.. No doubt the swiss milk tasted so yummy..

The fox family is a digital painting.. I tell my son stories about a fox family which lives in the deep woods on the mountain where we live now..Daddy fox, Mommy fox and baby fox :) 

There are lots more painting which are work in progress..There are koi fish, reindeer family, more owls, parrots...so many and so much pending work and so little time:)

Dream project

So its been days since I have been dreaming of opening a shop with nursery art,fine art prints, party printable and DIY kits and lots more.. Finally I have taken a first step towards that dream.. It takes a lot ..I mean a lotsss of effort and determination (for a person like me) to start something like this..After lots of " No I cannot do this"   ... I decided to take a tiny step and give it a try..

Floral arrangements for tabletops

Hello lovely friends!! There are so many new things that I want to share with you.. I have been working on so many new paintings..reorganized and redecorated the entire house..still working on making the shop operational.. traveled to some beautiful places in Hong Kong plus the baby has started sleeping all night long which means he takes small naps during daytime which means lesser 'Me- time' for me!! I honestly don't know which topic to post first..phew!!!

Flowers ..How about flower arrangement/ flower decor..just for eye candy!! Sharing with you today floral arrangement from our apartment.. These pretty arrangements in the lounge..This one is in a tall 4 feet vase..

 These two vase on a table are really good for eye candy..I like how the stems are kept hidden in the clear glass with palm leaves ..

This flower box as a centerpiece really helps prep up the space...Did you notice the the hint of green in the purple flower box.. 

Are these artichokes with stems?!!! Always thought artichokes look lovely...But never thought artichokes could form a table centerpiece...Great idea!!
